Part of the Tribe

Tribal prints have been popular for a while now but have continued to gain popularity throughout the summer! The print gives off an earthy, natural vibe with geometric shapes and natural colors. To keep an outfit from becoming a tribal overload, try sticking with one tribal piece (dress, top, skirt, etc.) and accent it with an earthy piece that contains feathers, gold detailing, or a tribal print in a similar color (necklace, bracelets, headbands, etc.) I've found a few pieces that feature the print as well as accenting pieces to add an earthy touch to the look!

Tribal Options:

Sienna Sundress with Belt $22.80 (Forever 21)

Add this!

Stephan & Co. Feather & Bead Earrings $8.00 (Nordstrom)

Add some feather earrings within the same color family such as these peachy orange earrings to blend with the warm tones of the dress! Since the print of the dress is so bold, the simple feather earrings help to pull the look together without fighting with the main focus of the outfit!

Ruffled Tribal Romper $48.00 (Nasty Gal)

Add this!

Ridged Bracelet $4.80 (Forever 21)

The ridges on the bracelet adds an interesting texture to the look, as well as keeping up with the lines on the dress! With a more muted gold accessory, the bright red of the dress doesn't have to compete with other colors. In addition, the bracelet also helps to add a touch of sparkle to the outfit for some visual interest!

Mayan Vision Printed Pullover $39.00 (Threadsence)

Add this!

Navajo Drop Earrings $2.80 (Forever 21)

These earrings would basically go with anything but it matches especially well with the slouchy pullover. They add a metallic touch to the look and helps to add a touch of polish to a very relaxed piece. In a way they help to prevent the 'I just rolled out of bed' vibe! Plus the black beads match with some of the geometric shapes on the top, and the silver picks up tones in the gray.

Staring at Stars One-Shoulder Tribal Tee $19.99 (Urban Outfitters)

Add this!

Beaded Abita Sandals $17.99 (Fred Flare)

These sandals are a perfect touch to this top! The beading, braid, and white stitching ooze an earthy feel and are flat so it doesn't take away from the relaxed feel like a pair of platforms would. The colors in the sandals pick up the matching colors in the design on the top so it prevents the look from looking more wacky than put-together.

Tribal Twist Maxi Dress $58.00 (Nasty Gal)

Add this!

Empyre Tribal Black Bandeau Bikini Top and Bottom $24.95 each (Zumiez)

It was probably the cut-outs in the maxi dress, but something about it gave off a beachy vibe to me. To go along with that theme, I added the black and white tribal bikini so the maxi would act as a dressy cover-up! Perfect for a day at the beach! After soaking up some sun, you can just slip on the dress to head out for dinner with some friends!
