To the Floor

Remember a few months back when I formed some of my fashion hits and misses of 2011? Well I unfortunately have to take back some of the choice words I had for the maxi skirt trend. I definitely prejudged this hot spring item before really noticing how incredibly versatile it truly is. However I feel as though the maxi skirts that were popular in the winter months only reinforced the things that bothered me about these floor length skirts to begin with. In positively dreary colors and boxy silhouettes, nothing about this trend sparked my interest. Luckily, more maxi skirts are emerging in bright spring pastels and adorable floral patterns! Positively flattering when paired with a fitted top, the skirt can easily give off the illusion of a one piece dress rather than two separates allowing for versatility in your wardrobe. Classic black is perfect for a romantic evening look when adorned with sparkly metallic jewelry and a sophisticated clutch. The skirt can easily be a great day option as well. Paired with a simple v-neck t-shirt or a loose top, you can create an outfit that is perfect for a brunch with friends or a trip to the farmers market. So why not give your mini skirts a rest and swap them for a longer option that is fashionable, functional, and most importantly comfortable!

Standing at the Top

It's official. I'm in love! With Topshop that is. Like a kid in a candy shop, I could hardly contain my excitement as I scavenged through every piece of fabric in the store, not leaving one corner or crevice untouched. With a wide range of different styles, there is definitely something for everyone. From glam party dresses to girly chiffon tops, no style is left out.
